Compare and Contrast...

I spy something I've been really looking forward to, which came in the post yesterday! It's two 'truly great' American magazines, sent to my by the kind Sherri B of Little House in Paradise.
If you click on her blog link, you'll be able to see which magazines I sent her - we are doing a 'compare and contrast' between British and American House Beautiful, which I for one am really excited about - it's one of my favourites. But this is also my first ever viewing of American Country Living, and I'm a devotee of the British one, so this is really exciting too. So exciting, that I'm saving it for a housework and childfree moment, which somehow hasn't occurred yet... I'll post you some pictures when I've really studied everything.

Thanks very, very much, Sherri!

Enjoy your magazines. I have to say I prefer the UK CL mag though haven't seen the other one so will be interested to hear what you think.

I have that CL magazine too! There are some very nice photos in it. I find it rather empty with a few nice pics but I don't tend to read the writing at all because it's just not really there. I can read it in five mins flat. I do hope you enjoyed your research anyway! Is that what we should call mag reading these days!??

Wonderful exchange! I like to save magazines for special treats when the work is done, too.

Hi Floss! I haven't had the internet so I'm catching up with everyone. I love your holy week posts for the children- really, really lovely. I hope you don't mind but as I missed my last Pause in Lent I sprung into an Action in Lent post!! I'm feeling refreshed and revitalised after having a little blog break over Lent.

Thank you for sharing your idea for a Pause in Lent. I really have slowed down and taken stock as it were and feel ready for literally springing into Spring/Summer. My house looks great after a big clear ou and I feel as if I have left all the clutter of winter and last year when I was poorly behind me.

I have been inspired, touched, motivated and more by yours and everyone else's Pause in Lent posts. I haven't always commented as that was all part of my slowing down a bit but they have all been great and I have found some lovely new blogs through your idea so thank you!!!

I am happy the magazines arrived safe and sound. I haven't had a chance to spend some good quiet time with mine yet but will share when I do. Thanks again.

I enjoy looking at British magazines. Occasionally a doctor here will have one in their office. The ads are different, everything is a bit different, and I find it so interesting.
I wish I had a laptop so I could share your story of Jesus' Passion with my religious education class (they are 7 year olds). Very well, done, Floss, and the activities are lovely. I will show them to my daughters.

I love those two magazines here in the U.S. I'm curious to see what you think and how different they are.
