Show and Tell Sunday - Favourite China

I've enjoyed watching people joining in with Josie-Mary's Show and Tell Sunday, and this week I'm able to make my own contribution. I have some grottty china, some good workaday china, and some rather special stuff. But one of my favourites is very ordinary and not at all special... I bought four plates like this at a Vide Greniers last summer when I was stocking up on cheap flowery plates for my birthday Garden Party. Since then, these four plates have kept sneaking out onto our table, whenever we have a meal that requires a cheerful look and middle-sized plates! I've realised over time how very French they are, and that makes them even more special for me. They would look good in this Country Living collection of stencilled French plates, don't you think?
Ordinary but special. I'm happy.

Design and colours..very French indeed!
A few minutes ago I was speaking about china with my mum, who bought today at the 2nd hand market a Polish tea-set for only 10€ (..you know how it works..sellers make great deals at those market and then they re-sell for a lot of €€€)
I also wanted to thank you as I've just spent a good hour looking at your old posts & pictures :)

Floss these plates are like you - special, but never ordinary.
I adore your blog.
I hope you and yours are all well and summer isn't far away for you.

I have plain white plates! but I do like patterned and coloured ones. Yours are lovely - I would quite like to have a different special plate for each person in our family - maybe I should look out for ones that reflect each personality!

Very pretty, one of your best 'finds'! I have some a little similar which I found years ago in a Brocante.

Lovely, I would totally fall for a plate like that. And like MrsYappyDog says, when we were children, my grandmother had a completely different plate for each of us, of our own choosing. You didn't dare try to use someone else's plate!

It is a cheery pattern. I love china plates, and can't resist taking them home with me from 2nd hand shops or tag sales. A girl can't have to many!

Yes indeed they would! I love the colours on the plate. You don't often find florals that aren't pink. I think you really should make a plate wall!
