we sat waiting outside...
everyone with climbing-legs got onto the wall and kept vigil...
.. for the arrival of
papa with the table tennis table! (He is always '
papa' to the animals, who are both considered to speak French.)
The cat was hastily moved out of the way - he has a bad history with reversing cars.
And in came our new (to us) ping pong table, bought from a local vendor over the internet.
It may have arrived late, but we had to play.
And Son 2 has just had his first session at the town Ping Pong Club - it's his chosen sport for this year! He is very satisfied, and it's wonderful to watch the dedicated teachers working with the children. Lots of broken left arms - I wonder if they've been enrolled because it's the only sport they can play whilst in plaster?

And yes, of course I grew up on Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf!

Oh you are going to have such fun with that!
What fun! If only we had room for one. I bet you will all get a lot of use out of it.
That's fantastic. I love table tennis, it's one of very few sports I can actually play. Played it in the pitch dark once on holiday when we had a power cut! Maybe you can teach the cat to play, too.
ooh we played a lot of Ping Pong when we were growing up - had a Folding table tennis table lid which we laid on our kitchen table - have often thought of getting one for my children .
Have fun - funny to think of all those broken arms !
