Getting away from it all...

... to a place where the fairy rose flowers, where Alice has her cabin,
where frogs abound.
Where vibrant autumn planting cheers the eye,
and beds are provided for weary wanderers.
A place of Asian temples,
inquisitive animals,

and half-hidden waterlife.
Where the lotus blooms,
and forms its incredible seed pods.
Where red, pink, purple and orange keep the summer alive,
and a tiny duckling is rescued from a crack in the rocky bank.
Where water flows,
and yes, the frogs still hide!
We had a lovely Saturday visit, and I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.

Thanks so much for all your kind wishes. My mum is well-cared-for and waiting for a place in a hospital that will give her the best support for her pain. The dog is indeed very unwell but we can afford treatment which may significantly improve her quality of life. So it's a reserved thumbs-up down here, with a lot of gratitude for a lovely weekend, a loving family and a very beautiful place to live.

It sounds as though your lovely weekend was very much needed and gave you a good tonic, Floss. Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction for your Mum. And I've got everything crossed that the dog's treatment goes well too.
I love Alice's house by the way :-)
Have a good week,

I'm so glad your Mom is going to a place where she will be well cared for. My poor Mom's nurse is getting a little crabby (me) I'm off to get a cup of coffee alone today and a few items at the store for a little recharge. I love her to bits it's just alot of remebering all the things to do and when to do them!
Thanks for the lovely photos they were a real lift!

Hi Floss!
When things seem to be going wrong it always seems best to stop ,take a breather, and think about the good things, how truly blessed we really are.

ohhh - I want to be Alice and live in that little cabin where frogs are my neighbours and tiny black ducklings hide in cracked walls!... your cheery post when you clearly have many worries made me immediately think of that song 'look on the bright side of life'. xxx

That looks lovely, where is it? We're in Scotland for a week from Thursday. A night in Glasgow, 3 nights at a lighthouse in Gairloch and then a night in Edinburgh. Can't wait!

Sorry to hear about your mum and the dog. I hope everyone is feeling more comfortable soon. I'll be thinking of you.
