Join us for a Pause in Advent 2011

For the last two years it's been fantastic to join with bloggers around the world in taking a weekly break from the pressure and whirl of Christmas preparation. We've called the event A Pause in Advent, and the aim is to take some time out from the build-up and to share what is really important to us as Christmas approaches. This is what I wrote the first year, and I think it still fits now:

"We are getting together to share thoughts, traditions, ideas, crafts and experiences relating to Advent and the preparation for Christmas. Some of us follow very old traditions or have very established beliefs, whilst many of us are combining the old with the new, learning and growing as we go along…"

It would be lovely if you'd like to join us in posting on Sundays or Mondays in Advent. Anything goes, and you don't need to apologise if you miss a week (or more). Have a look through my previous Advent posts (they should be listed in the linky do-dah below) if you want to learn more, and leave a comment here if you'd like to join in this year!

PS Forgot to say - please do take this photo and use it in your own blog sidebar or your posts with a link!

PPS A few random-ish previous Advent posts to give you some ideas:
mine
Lyn's
Vicki's!

I think this year I would like to do one post for the final week if that's alright and be a passive observer leading up. Betty

What a lovely idea. We try so hard in our home to make the holiday season about the approach of Christmas and its miracle, rather than about (over)consumption. Not that we fully succeed, of course, but we do make a real effort. I would be very happy to take part in this posting project! May I use your photo above to make a button? I'd love feature it on my blog. :-)

I would love to join, Floss! I am doing "A Childlike Christmas" on the four Wednesdays leading up to Christmas. Sundays are reserved for your A Pause in Advent.

I'd like to join in again this year. It's always good to focus on preparing one's heart for Christmas.

I'd like to take part again this year - again my themes might be less traditional but they seemed to go down well last year.

Off to think of my 4 headings for 2012 :)

What a super idea, we can lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. I'll look forward to reading peoples' input and try to join in myself. (I'm going to have a look at your previous posts too!)
