Have a look at the buttons - these were strung together, but of course they're quite different. I like both types, though. The flowery one will go very well with the collection I brought over from my mum's. I still don't know how I'm going to display them...Snazzy, almost hat-shaped buttons. 1950s, perhaps? 1930s? What do you think? And some MOP, of course...Here's the base of that jug.
And here's the other side. Unfortunately, our wild roses have gone over now, because they'd look great in this jug!
And finally, I got some shabby patchwork seat cushions for our outdoor chairs. Comfortable bottoms all round at lunch time!Meanwhile, Son 1 and Ben have been extremely active, firstly planting out four tomato plants, which Son 1 must water, which he can then eat from any time he wants! (He tends to graze on our tomato plants, so we're protecting our own harvest by doing this.)
They then went on to lay out our exciting second hand swimming pool, and prepare the gravelled area for the pool to be set up. They're currently out buying sand to make the area properly flat, and they THINK they may have the pool up by tomorrow evening! That depends on how long we all spend at our own town's Vide Greniers tomorrow, perhaps...

I am so envious! I miss the French vide greniers in our area ( Bourgogne ) so much. Hopefully, there will be one or two when I am over there in August/Sept. I love the jug, it is so sweet. And the buttons are fabulous. Great finds.
Thank you for this lovely weekend post, it really cheered me up, as the weather has been really dull over the previous week - it's around +13 with persistent cold wind from the Baltics... Cool finds again :) You know, I'm really curious how you manage to find time for everything: your family, your job, your hobby and the blog :)!
Ah, thanks for the idea of linking to previous related posts.. I saw how it works in your blog and added the gadget to mine, really useful thing!
Thanks for sharing your treasure hunt. Home grown tomatoes sound good. Have a great weekend.

How great to have a child that grazes on tomatoes! I really like your finds, especially the jug. And of course more buttons are always fun!

Lucky finds! As you have seen in my last post.... I have a soft spot for buttons...love these!
Bon weekend and happy hunting tomorrow!
Hi Floss, thank you so much for the extra chance, that is so kind of you. xxxx
Dear Floss
What lovely treasures you found .
Thank you for posting the photos .
I love the fact that your son is learning to garden.
My grown son is growing tomatos
in my backyard . He has no yard or patio space
of his own. So he comes over frequently
to water and weed.
Which is nice for his parents .
Had a really great time visiting your blog.
Hope you get to go shopping again tomorrow.
The pool sounds like a great family project.
hugs
Finding buttons always makes me smile

Ooh I love that little jug. The weather looks beautiful as I sit here in cold, old Daylesford. As for those buttons, aren't they amazing. What do you think you will do with them? x
Wow what treasures you found - I love that jug.
How old are your boys Flossie! I have a 9 year old and 2 six year old boys! I DEFINITELY know what bionicles are! Isn't that hilarious! I of course adore all of the vintage goodies but my heart really started fluttering over that mention!
