So how did the scarves go???

Some of you asked for news of how our Festival of Britian scarves sold - I'm happy to tell you that the first one I mentioned sold for 16 pounds, and the second one is currently at 15 pounds 99 (I can't get a pounds symbol on my French keyboard here!). Also currently for sale is our last Festival item - personally I love this little leather box, and quite want to take it home with me... but I'd rather see it sell! My sister and I have decided that these items, collected by my mum over the years, will be sold to go into a fund to help our families visit each other. These first sales won't make much of a dent in our travel expenses, but it's a lovely start and I think that my mum would have found it a wonderful result for her little speculative buys over the years.

In other news, we're having a lovely time with our visiting friends - visits to the Natural History Museum in Toulouse and lots of garden salads and a little bit of ice cream seem to be the order of the day...

I'm sure your Mum would be pleased that her girls are hoping to put the money to such use and hope that the rest of the items go for good prices.

I think your mum would be delighted with that idea.

Hello Floss:
What a splendid idea to use the 'profits' from your sales to start a travel fund. It is always good, we think,to have an objective for savings of this kind and we are sure that you will enjoy not only the selling of some of your mother's items, but also watching the pot grow. Good luck with current sales.
