Changes... for the better...

Do you know, I used to get pretty resentful when Ben asked me to help him chop fruit for one of his mammoth late-night marmalade-making sessions...But now I'm seeing it as a chance to do something together, as well as a feast for the eyes, and the nose! I bet you can smell that Four Fruit marmalade, just from the picture, can't you? Plenty more varieties to come...

At least it's going in rind and all- which I learnt from an article on Woman's Hour yesterday! They had some funky alternatives to marmalade for Seville oranges, if Ben's interested! Some discussion on alternative pronunciations of Seville as well!

Oh Floss I am a huge devotee of late night marmalade making! I always forget how long the prep actually takes and then can't face any of the end product for a week or two as I find I have OD'd on the orange simmering fragrance!!!

Happy New year to you all,

It is very much a feast for the eyes! Will Ben be sharing his recipe?

When I read this one it was one of those "funny coincidence" ones......... you see, from downstairs is coming the noise of peel being chopped...........

I'm with Sheri B how do you start and recipe?

Sudden epiphany about the Mystery Object...I think it is a MARMALADE MARBLE - you drop it into a vat of bubbling citrus bits, and when it stops rattling in the bottom, you know you have reached setting point!

Mmm, I can almost smell the citrus from here. Delectable!

Gorgeous and I can just imagine how wonderful it smells! Somehow I missed a bunch of your posts (don't know how) I have been enjoying catching up. I love all the beautiful linens you found, what treasures! And so fun to see what that little clay ball was most likely used for.

Looks wonderful. I shall have to get some Seville oranges soon and get boiling too as we are down to the very last jar of last year's "crop".
Last week I read that marmalade is no longer a popular choice for breakfast in Uk and that majority prefer chocolate spread on their toast. Don't think I'll be swapping though.
