I Believe in Fires at Midnight...

j
Listen to this Jethro Tull song here to find out what's been going through my mind this morning...
j
j
'I believe in fires at midnight, when the dogs have all been fed.
A golden toddy on the mantle; a broken gun beneath the bed.
Silken mist outside the window -Frogs and newts slip in the dark.
Too much hurry ruins a body: I'll sit easy; fan the spark.'
j
j
'Kindled by the dying embers of another working day.
Go upstairs: take off your make-up -Fold your clothes neatly away.
Me, I'll sit and write this love song
As I all too seldom do -Build a little fire this midnight.
It's good to be back home with you.'
j
I'm sure it's because Ben's away, and we had a long phone chat as I sat by the log fire last night. He was in a snowy Copenhagen, once again in a hotel chosen by the secretary at work, once again in the red light district!
j
He ended by saying: 'See you late tomorrow night!' Poor man, I had to remind him it was only Wednesday night, and he gets back on Friday at midnight...

Love that cat - he/she's just like my Tom always finding the best spot for a bit of relaxation practice not that Tom needs any practice he's a gold madalist at it!

Hope your husband gets back safely - I remember the times when mine was away usually for 2 weeks which nearly always ended up being 6!!

A bientot!

They certainly do pick some strange accommodation for your husband!

Do you think you ought to take over hotel-finding?! I always hate being a single mother - it is always when the Head Chef goes away that we have serious crises with animals/cars/machinery - in fact, any area where I lack expertise!

My husband will be off on a business trip again soon, it's always a little hard.
I love that you have Tull going through your head. I have that album and love it!

He should have a talk with the secretary.
Your kitty looks so comfortable curled up like that.
Thanks for stopping by. I started this comment a while ago, but have had 2 phone calls in the middle of typing it. :) I will email you later regarding your question.

My husband used to go to away quite regularly on business trips until he was made redundant. Since working from home he is always here - which is good mainly.

I could do with a warm fire tonight - I've been frozen all day and just can't seem to warm up.

Nice song and lovely music. Hope he manages to get a little bit of quality sleep. Poor man getting the days wrong - kind of sums it up really.

Now I have to say you are one lucky lady! Your boys eat with their elbow on the table. How I would love to be able to have that in our house. My two year old came to the table last night and announced "That looks yuck" and the four year old took 45mins to push food around her plate and the oldest was sent to her room for being really rude. Pudding however was successful, how strange!

Very creative to take pics of your cat and dog on a patchwork blanket (without it looking cheesy!!) Hope your hubby comes home safe and sound!
