First Fruits...

From our raised beds...and from our friends' cherry tree (and our rose bushes).

The cherries have been eaten at every meal today:

Here they are at breakfast, to go on the Silver Dollar Pancakes.

I hope you're having a great weekend - ours is pretty busy, processing so much fruit! Thank goodness for quick and easy salads from the garden, to make life easier!

You have such luscious cherries! The cherry tree in our orchard produces very tiny, light red and bitter ones..yuck!
We are already eating strawberries and today we're having our first peas! No more frozen ones!

I miss our neighbour's cherries now that we no longer live in France - every year a basket would be passed over the fence and they were delicious! Those silver dollar pancakes look interesting - what are they? Have you mentioned them before and I have missed it?

Now I wonder if silver dollar pancakes are the same as pikelets?

I think the pigeons have eaten all our cherries before they even got a chance to grow and ripen. There is lots of evidence of them having done so on the ground under the tree! We haven't had anything from the garden yet, although the piggies have had some of the silverbeet.

It is so hard to imagine cherries being eaten already..in our area they are just now forming on the trees! Have a good weekend putting up your fruit.

Wow they are my favourite fruit, lucky you!

Hope the dizzy thing wore off?
I had that last month, it lasted about 3 days.

Well I'm full of cold, great..at least I'll be over it for our french adventure in june!

Those cherries look so juicy! Lucky you having fruit from the garden. I have good memories of climbing up the cherry trees when I used to live in France as a child. We ate so many...My Father also saved me from choking on one, he held me upside dow until it finally popped out. Doesn't stop me from loving cherries.
Have a lovely weekend

I bought cherries at the market this morning. They're mainly for my husband and daughter (the younger one), I'm not too fond of them, but I guess I will use some to make something yummy. Waiting for inspiration.

I love being able to just pop into the garden and gather something for a meal. Right now it is salad things, strawberries and gooseberries.

Those cherries look so good! They are a luxury over here. We get them from New Zealand when they are in season and they cost an arm and a leg!!! :)

Is that a little radish? I can't wait for the Rainer cherries to come to market here. Your cherries look luscious, Floss! You make me very hungry for a pancake. I might make one for breakfast. It's always nice to pop in here!

Oh what a wonderful breakfast! I love cherries, but they make my mouth a little bit itchy! I still eat them though!

Wow! Cherries this early - you are so lucky. My father grows them commercially, but it will be a while yet before we get them.
