For weeks now I've been taking photos of the shelves below our front windows - usually in the hazy sunshine of the late afternoon. The shelves themselves aren't vintage, it's the contents that qualify!
Two beautiful books...
... a hand-made wooden horse...
and a (fledgling) collection of vintage Lourdes souvenirs. I'm collecting the pictures of the church, not of Our Lady, as I'm not Catholic myself and I find the scenes more to my taste. Lourdes is not far from us - and I love those sheep!

Of course, it's rare to find our shelves without a few little additions of the adolescent boy variety...And over on the left, in fact all around the not-vintage speaker, is the pride of my current collection!
A 1920s tin with Basque dancers on it - aren't they great? They have some Breton cousins... (Elizabethd can correct me if I'm wrong)...

It's always interesting to see what you have on your shelves, Floss! I think you are right, the Basque and Breton people have a link.
The tins are quite a find, I wonder what was in them. Maybe treats from those different areas.
They are great Floss, displayed lovingly with the sun shining in.
I understand the trail of teenage male debris - mine just abandon stuff everywhere!
Love the EB book - I remember reading that as a child.
Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous tins xxx
I'm an avid tin collector and those are wonderful. Great finds.
A lot of my tins are in the loft in boxes - I don't have space to display them - must try and remedy that. Such a waste, otherwise.
Your shelf corner looks very cozy and inviting. I think I could curl up there with a book for a while.
Hi Floss - nice pictures ! And the vintage tins are lovely. The last one is from Provence, more specifically from the Arles region. It's a pity you don't have any from Alsace ! If I find something one day, I'll put it aside for you.
