Join up for a Pause in Lent

Next Sunday, March 13th, is the first Sunday in Lent this year (and that means pancakes for us Brits this Tuesday!). Last year I ran a very open-ended Pause in Lent, to compliment the admitedly much more popular Pause in Advent that we've enjoyed for a few years now. The Pause in Advent has quite a broad appeal - we all feel the need to take a break and think about why we're doing all this, as Christmas approaches. The Pause in Lent is really different, as fewer people are going crazy with activity in the weeks before Easter. It therefore tended last year to be a more specifically Christian 'Pause', as Lent and Easter are more specifically Christian than the mid-winter celebrations which include Christmas. However, you are welcome to join in this year whatever the focus of your spirituality - I hope that we can all learn from each other again, which we certainly did last year!
I made this Wordle last year using key words from comments people had left about their hopes for Lent 2010. Will you join those of us listed on the sidebar in posting about your ideas and thoughts for Lent 2011? If you'd like to get involved, do let me know in your comment below. We'll post on Sundays or Mondays in Lent, whichever suits you best. Any further questions should be answered by clicking on last year's post here.
Edit: Thanks to you lovely people who are joining up. I've decided that my monthly 'signing off for the week' is going to run for a week from now until next Sunday - the first day of our Pause in Lent. Please carry on signing up and do email me if you have any questions about this or otherwise want to get in contact - I won't be reading my blog or yours but I will be in email contact, and will be preparing for the Pause in Lent. Pop back next Sunday and you should find my first post, and the blogs of all the participants on the list in my sidebar. Looking forward to seeing you then!
love
Floss

Oops I think I am ahead of the game and have posted my first post already!! I said I wasn't a regular church goer and had to check out the meaning of Lent so maybe I can be forgiven for being ahead though I did work it out that Easter was more than 40 days away so I might have realised!!

Mine, on the other hand, may be a day late. We are off to UK to a funeral and wont be back till the Monday. I have, however, tried preposting it dated the Sunday.....but it probably wont work!

I remember this from last year. I thought I joined but when I look back on my blog I don't see it. Oh well. I will be joining this year at any rate.

I'd like to join, too. May I? I enjoyed the "pauses" very much last year and I'm so encouraged that Easter is coming soon. Bring on the pastel eggs and the chicks. I shall pull out my Making Crosses book, again! Do I just put the PAUSE button on my sidebar, make it a link and share about it? Thanks, Floss.

Floss, have a blessed blog fast! What is the provenance of the Lent picture- is it in ivory? I'm posting tonight, I think, to get me rolling- rolling- very appropriate, lol!

Floss, I'm a Christian & we do celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, but Ive never celebrated Lent that I remember, although as a young child I did grow up in a Methodist church, where we probably did. I'm going to have to study this all out to see what it's about! Karen
