Heresy

I had a wonderful look through the CK catalogue yesterday. I don't like the new Provence Rose china. And I wouldn't want to wear any of the clothes.
But I like nearly everything else.
Does this mean excommunication? ;)

Oh, it is rare to find someone saying "I don't like" to a CK product. I thought you were doing a bit of reverse psychology there.

I agree. The fabrics are great, but the clothes?? Maybe if I were 16 again....and size 6!

I really like the provence rose, but the clothes I think are a real miss this season so far. x

I agree, the clothes look a bit pants but not liking the Provence Rose - well, I'm shocked. Hee hee!

Not heresy! I'm in total agreement...it's just a wee bit much!! LOL!

Hey it would be boring if we all liked the same! I like the Provence Rose print but probably only in small doses - a few bits rather than a whole collection.

Some of the clothes I like but at those prices I won't be buying any anyhow.

I like the provance rose, infact would love the yea pot, milk jug and sugar pot, but will not spend. I am not for the clothes though

Gosh, no, Floss!

I can take CK in small doses - but a whole shop full or house full starts to make me a bit jittery!! Less is more.... less is more...

And I tend to have an aversion to anything which gets too much exposure, be it a designer, a book, a film, a town, anything....

Hi Floss!
I completely agree with you about the new Provence Rose! I'm just glad that you said it first!! ;-)

If it is excommunication then I am off to Coventry because - dare I say it? - I don't actually like any of CK's stuff these days!

I used to like CK, but, it's a little to bright sometimes. I'm much more of a Shabby Chic person, I love Rachel Ashwell and all things white.

Finally someone with the balls not to get on their knees and worship at the CK mags!

I like one of the dresses and two bags from a year or so ago but the rest of her stuff for the last few years is 'meh' to me.

I think people go on and on and on and on about La Kidston too much. I'm bored already. Ha!

I like the dress you have shown hehehe..but not any other clothes really...and I am coveting those bowls too..as I am being very frugal I am hoping lovely husband takes the hint (circled in the mag!!) for my birthday.
The bowls are the first case of the CK wanties I have had for a while!!!
So the opposite of yourself as the rest of the book just makes me shrug and think well its ok!!
(except the fabric....I do love the fabric!!!)

I've opened up a can of worms here!

I like the fact that we're all different.

Well, I never have before... Don't know why it winged its way to me this time but actually it's a really good read, who says you have to like everything in it?

Mine arrived yesterday, and that's pretty much my summing up of it too. No way would I wear any of those frumpy clothes, though I would buy the children's clothes, some of which are charming, and I particularly covet the knitted striped blanket.

Well I do absolutely agree about the clothes, but I kind of like the bowls though! Suzie xxx

Oh, I do like the bowls you are showing, but then they have little roses on them, and I can never resist roses. I don't have the catalogue, so I can't really comment on the other things, but I have to say, the dress or blouse or whatever it is which you showed isn't to my taste at all.

Hi Floss,
I really like the provence rose pattern and the clothes well, that's a bit mixed. Not so keen on this seasons, unless there is more to come in the shops that I have not yet seen. I usually like CK's floral tea dresses and their cardigans! Being into 1940's clothes, her clothes usually fit the bill!
I don't like all her stuff but confess I like most of it! One of the very rare high street shops that I like.

Have a lovely evening
Warm wishes

I'm with you Floss. And the dresses seem SO expensive
[nb does CK produce a pretty can for you to keep the worms in?]

Could it be that we will free ourselves of the tyranny of lifestyle marketing?? Probably not! Not while Avoca still have their Belfast shop!!

Seems Ck products is too expesive to use in the kitchen or somewhere at home in normal here in Japan. Because made in England? We cant get imported things reasonably.
It seems that people go to crazy a new or rare fasion.Sometimes me too. people want to new things more. But keeping really life is important
maybe.

I haven't seen a brochure, only what you posted here - not my taste - but if it was in a charity shop for a good price I would probably see it in a different light - it's all according to the size of your wallet I think ... personally I would get more pleasure from finding or creating a 'look alike' at a fraction of the price!

I have to admit I do very much like the Provence rose (though having been to Provence I can't say I saw anything like that!!!). I love most of her fabrics. But...

I never like her women's clothes much - not that they would fit me lol - and normally I hate her brassy jewellery. There I've said, now I'll be excommunicated too ;)

No, it just means you don't always follow the crowd! It's a good thing! :) xxx

I quite like the Provence rose but I'd much rather have a piece of vintage china any day. I'm highly unlikely to buy any CK things because it's such a ripoff & I'm actually quite bored with it now.

To be honest... and I hate to add to your wormery... but I don't really understand what all the fuss is about... she is a very clever sales woman who has marketed her straightforward gear to a very enthusaitic audience... I take my hat off to her skills as a business woman... but if enough customers get behind any designer and rave about it they will make them just as famous... I am hoping to stumble across the next big thing and get all stocked up before it becomes too expensive! lol

well there you go... plop... I have dropped my worms into your tin... ;D

take care

Have to say all getting a little booooooringo for me, though I shall always love the fabrics and the crush mugs, of which I have about 20, Ohooo and the kiddies clothes, and the Napkins, Ohooo yes and the little bags, and the duvets and the notelets and the cards and the jewellery, he he

Nothing jumped out at me, have to say in the current magazine.

Love your post :o)

Mmm, I'm not so keen on the graphic floral prints with the black backgrounds either! I look to CK for bright cheery florals and it's a bit too dingy for me. So not so keen on the clothes either
