Rearrange the words 'rains', 'pours' and 'never' to make a well known sentence...

Son 1 fell and bruised his knee badly about three weeks ago. He claimed it was too sore to go to Gym Club (a not unheard-of excuse) but when I examined it I found it to be quite swollen and bruised and let him off. He used his crutches from last year for a day or two and then decided it was better.
j
Since then he's had pain in his knee and leg, but was pretty certain it wasn't linked to the original bruise, so we just told him to get on with it.
j
But it was getting better not worse, so I decided I'd better get it seen by the doctor before we spend a week walking around hilly Edinburgh. Brief summary (after the usual 3 hours of waiting...): he has a lump on the bone which often grows quite harmlessly until it is bumped, but then causes lots of pain and trouble. He is not to walk around hilly Edinburgh or anywhere else, and is to get it X-rayed as soon as we return to NHS-free civilisation. (No insult intended, or not a lot of one - it's just that we can have same-day X-rays here...)
j
Firstly, your prayers for our ongoing minor struggles would be appreciated. Secondly, do read my pretty and cheerful post below and leave me some cheerful comments too - Son 1 and I have already commiserated with each other and now I need cheering up!

Poor boy.
I hope something can be done about his pain, and it'd be nothing too invasive about it, too.

Oh Floss - what is it with boys??

Can you borrow something to push him around Edinburgh?? or failing that pinch a supermarket trolley?? ;)

Oh Floss - you certainly do seem to be unlucky with your problems one way and another just now don't you?! Do hope that you are due for an upturn soon. I love Vintage Vicky's suggestion of using a supermarket trolley to push your son round in though am thinking that might cause more problems than it solves especially if it has wonky wheels!! NHS is marvellous but one thing I did like about the helathcare system in France was the speed of things!!

Hope your trip to Edinburgh goes well in spite of the invalid.

Could you not get it x-rayed before going to Edinburgh -or perhaps you are in Edinburgh now? Sorry, I may not have paid attention! Hope the lad's knee gets better soon, anyway - and hope you have a good holiday / visit. Take care, Abby x (I'm doing a giveaway - you could enter to cheer yourself up!)

Oh Floss, I am so sorry to hear this news.
I have followed your instructions and re-arranged "Rains, pours, never".
It is clear that as he is travelling, Son#1 will have discomfort [rover nurses pains!]
and will have to choose between resting and racing [passive or runner?]
I would advise that he spends his time in Scotland tending your Dad's garden - but does not get bigheaded and join the "vain rose pruners"
blessings and hugs xx

Floss, because of a similar situation with my daughter some years ago, I want you to know that I will be praying, but please keep us posted. Hope you have a great time in Edinburgh in spite of this!

Thinking of you Floss - luck certainly doesn't seem to be with you at the moment. Loved the last post - particularly where you find the piece of vintage ticking!
