Party time!

Last weekend we went to a friend's garden party and I was really happy with how I looked, so here is a blurry photo! It's the real me! Wearing my mother's pearls.
And a fantastic vintage(ish) Liberty dress from Marie Curie Cancer Care, Edinburgh, and a Laura Ashlet tie cardigan from another Edinburgh charity shop. It's the same dress I wore to my own garden party, but I've photographed better in it this year, so have some more pictures...
So what did we take my friend, the chicken-keeping-other-reader of English Country Living in our French town?
A bunch of pink, white and yellow roses from our garden, which I picked after photographing the other presents: a vintage cockerel embroidery (what a find!), a handmade green and MOP button heart, and a vintage Languedoc postcard (this is our region), which is somewhat older than the Birthday Girl herself! And scones for the cream tea, obviously. Have you tried explaining clotted cream to the French? We had fun...

PS Sorry that this title popped up in your readers a while ago - I'm busy with the school fair today so I scheduled this post in advance and then it all went haywire - story of my life! I'll let you know about the school fair on Monday.

Oh, how I would love to find a dress like yours! Here in my "neck of the woods" pretty dresses seem so hard to find. Beautiful. I just found your cute blog and am enjoying it. Stop by and visit me if you get a chance. Happy weekend! Lisa
