A Trap in the Garden

Yesterday, during an afternoon lesson, I recieved an unusual phonecall from Son 1, returned home early (as planned), due to a striking teacher. It's unlike him to disturb a lesson, so I answered in case there was a problem. There was a problem, at least in his eyes. "Mum, was there a huge hole in the garden path when you left this morning?" No, there hadn't been... There had been a really fresh mole hill, though...
I reassured him, and phoned back during break time. "Does the dog have really dirty paws?" "Yes." "HAVE YOU LET HER ON THE SOFA???" "Yes." "Oh well..."
So, a Dog trap for Moles?
Or a Mole trap for Dogs?
Or as it very nearly was, a Mole and Dog trap for Cyclists?
Fortunately, Son 2 spent some time in the early evening filling it in with a trowel - unasked but most appreciated. Cyclists (including Daddy, coming home in the dark) and Heffalumps, both saved...

Quite obviously a horrible French Heffalump. Watch out, there might be more.

Do you have Woozles too? I am pleased that you are such a forgiving swap hots as I was just a little bit naughty too! I agree that no computer access is somewhat of an eye opener. It was shocking to realise quite how much time I was spending online, and how much more I could achieve. I'm now feeling torn between my love of our shared world blogging and being a better housewife!

Your sons had good job!! Nice team works dont they? If you dont know the trap, you'll break or hurt your legs. But why was the trap in the garden?

Thank heavens! I understand the Franco~ heffalumpus is a deal heavier that ours and much damage may have been incurred!

I thought in the second close-up pic the hole looked vaguely shamrock shaped. I thought your dog might be getting ready for St. Patrick's Day. xx

Your son is such a treasure, how very thoughtful of him to fill in the hole without even being asked.
Hmm, you sure its not a dinosaur footprint??

What a dear son to fill in the hole!

Now I wonder whatever is down there that prompted the digging?! =)

What fab helpers you have, even the dog, trying to catch naughty Moley! x

That would be a bit freeky to come home to a hole. We don't have moles in NZ so really haven't experienced the damage they cause. Guess they are a bit like oversized worms really.
