Cocooning

Hi friends, I'm back from my blogging break in theory but not particularly in practice, as you'll note from the lack of posts. I'm enjoying an occasional browse through some of your blogs but am doing what the French love to call 'cocooning', I suppose. It's a year since my mother's death and just hanging around with the family, teaching a little and pottering about the house and local area seem right at the moment. I will be back in time to plan some Advent fun, though!

I'm looking forward to your advent posts. But I agree, sometimes a break and a bit of respite is essential, enjoy pottering, teaching and the essential family time.

Hello Floss

Anniversaries and their memories deserve cocooning and please do not rush the process. Sending prayers and may there be peace in your heart

I didn't realise you had lost your Mum so recently. Sending you a hug across the small sea and agreeing you should take it slowly. The word cocoon is SO perfect.

Thinking of you all. The book of Proverbs says "The memory of the just is blessed" - may you know special blessings as you 'cocoon' and cherish those special memories in your hearts x

I know exactly what you mean. I think I'm cocooning too - just arrived back in France, trying to forget the trauma of the recent operation and aiming to be upbeat about staying in France as I can't sell my properties and go back to England...

You should never feel an obligation to blog, otherwise what should be fun would turn into a chore. So blog again when you are ready, and we will be here to read :-).

Sometimes you need that time to wrap up in a cocoon - take all the time you need and know you are loved.

I remember the first time I heard this expression used by a student - I didn't know about "cocooning" as a concept so when she continued using the word, insisting it was English and I should recognise it, we all got very confused!

But I wish you well in your "time out" when you wrap yourself in the love of your family and the love of God. Tomorrow, at Toussaint, we'll be remembering our dear friend Paul who we lost this year: may you be comforted as you remember your Mum. God bless, Floss. xx

Hi Floss, Sounds like a wonderful idea for you. Praying that you and your family are especially encouraged and comforted now and through the holiday season as you remember the special family memories you were blessed by with your mother.

Hi Floss
cocooning sounds like the perfect thing to do, especially as the seasons change too.
Gosh, I can hardly believe a year has gone by since your Mum died. It is indeed a time to be centred on family and essentials and I hope that you are all able to find comfort with each other and to share some happy memories too. From my own experiences of bereavement, it is true that only time can help to heal the pain of loss, without underestimating how quickly and easily a hint of recollection can send you reeling back to those earlier intense emotions. Take care dear Floss.
Thinking of you and sending lots of love your way,
xx

Hello Floss, I may be absent from blogland ( I have taken my rest from it all, a bit too seriously!) but I often think of you and my other favorite blogs. Sending you my love. Suzie xxx
