Poor Old House

We are feeling better, but after days of boys cutting up paper and leaving lego lying around, a hairy dog and cat, and me feeling sick, the house is rather the worse for wear.

I'm not coming back on the blog until I've fixed it! (And given that I'm at work tomorrow, this could mean Tuesday at the earliest.) Meanwhile, please make do with my pretty pictures from the last few days and this:

I have been lucky enough to follow a link to Lajoni's beautiful blog 'Painting New Memories', where she is having a giveaway of one of her portraits, drawn from a photo you send. Wouldn't that be fantastic to win! Do pop over and see her...

I always have to cut myself off from the laptop if I want to get anything done!

Oh poor poor Floss! Don't overdo yourself now will you? I'm sure it doesn't look that bad either. Anyway I'm off to finish that window I started cleaning last week.

Perhaps I should be doing the same thing but alas, here I am....

Take care of yourself, it takes a little while to recover from the dreaded gastro.

Hello Floss
I'm pleased to hear you are feeling better, but do take it steady - all that house work isn't good for recuperation!
Thanks for your comment about the utmost challenge. Like you, this is pretty much how we live, but I am so conscious of how easy it is for me to impulse buy or to shop for somebody's gift, etc. Being a consumer is so easy, and that's the problem. I'm hoping the challenge will really make me stop and think rather than just 'buy', and to make me use my creativity much more. I am a little nervous to say the least! But luckily my Husband is extremely frugal, much more than me, so at least he won't be leading me astray!
Of course, there are always the exceptions, and if you do feel you might have a go, of course you could have any exceptions which are right for you.
If nothing else, I've already started to research how to make underwear!!
Take care

Take it easy Floss, but glad to hear you are all recuperating.
I think our youngest has a gastro bug of some sort. I did send him to school today, as it is always difficult to tell with him how bad something is, but he didn't really eat anything tonight - MOST UNUSUAL! So will have to see how he is in the morning.
Probably just as well not showing your boys the guinea pigs - they are addictive - I have had them since I was 7 years old!

Awww, you poor darlings, I am so sorry you have not been well. You take it easy girl, don't call your house messy, just call it well lived in. Housework is overrated.
