I am loving this stack of quilts and eiderdowns - they all came from the Secours Catholique shop at around the same time a few years ago, and came in handy during the cold winter of 2012-2013. This winter they've hardly had a look-in, but I happened to put a new clothes rack into the bedroom (Ben likes to keep his gardening clothes from one weekend to the next, and they are NOT going to live on the floor, whatever he thinks, so a rack comes in handy).
Son 2 and I shortened the metal poles for this second-hand clothes rack (OK, Son 2 did it, seeing as he found me with the saw and took over), so that it now fits under our eaves. It's arguable whether the top eiderdown actually DOES fit, but they do look rather lovely, so it's staying there for now.

They are gorgeous! We had a stack of eiderdowns on top of us last winter as well, it was soooo cold. This winter, we didn't even get a hard frost. Not complaining, lol.
Impressed that the shortened legs of rack are all the same length. Either that or you have a perfectly horizontal ceiling and took the photo at an angle!
The quilts look so cosy & comforting. I know the Americans call them 'comforters' [and Brits have eider-down from the eider ducks]- but what's the French name for them?
They are 'edredons' in French!
Ooooh they are so gorgeous - it's almost worth having a really cold winter so that you can get them out and use them! xCathy
My cats would make a bee line for them!

When my daughter was pre-school she and I used to watch Bear in the Big Blue House. In one of his wardrobes were a number of quilts all folded neatly on the shelves. I've held that lovely sight in my memory for a long time and I do like to see a stack of neatly folded quilts. xx
I loved finding quilts like that in Brittany. Somehow they are much harder to find here. The fabrics are so lovely.
So pretty that I would display them year round!
Very 'snuggable'. What a very handy son you have.
Love from Mum
