I was on a mission years ago with a young woman from Sweden. She told me that when she and her friends performed their St. Lucia procession through the "old folks' homes," some of the elderly truly thought they had died and were in Heaven seeing angels. Easy to believe, isn't it, when you see it for yourself.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089316062583477747.post-80166090345642657562009-12-16T21:31:17.373+01:002009-12-16T21:31:17.373+01:00I love this Swedish tradition - it is very beautif...I love this Swedish tradition - it is very beautiful with the lights and the choir singing. I didn't know that France was so secular. I can't imagine celebrating Christmas without the focus of the Christ child, just as I can't imagine Easter without the Resurrection.
I enjoyed reading your post on Santa Lucia. I look forward to a few quiet moments to go back to read some of your previous posts.Pondsidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02407539138546412482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089316062583477747.post-46888033065317271372009-12-15T16:37:06.839+01:002009-12-15T16:37:06.839+01:00They even use your tune, Michela! They even use your tune, Michela!Flosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18098894367955345944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089316062583477747.post-31142921099680743742009-12-15T13:56:51.227+01:002009-12-15T13:56:51.227+01:00..I feel so ridicolous now..I thought that the Swe.....I feel so ridicolous now..I thought that the Swedish had their own Saint Lucy..I didn't know they celebrated our Sicilian Santa Lucia!Michelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17013022672253622117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089316062583477747.post-41137336709656209482009-12-15T10:57:37.515+01:002009-12-15T10:57:37.515+01:00Hi Floss,

That was a nice memory to re-kindle, because he used to sing it when he was happy. Thank you.
Thanks also for thought provoking posts, I know how time consuming they can be, but it's lovely to be appreciated.
Luisa
xLuisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08593040435671084991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089316062583477747.post-82072661754528253252009-12-15T09:54:55.097+01:002009-12-15T09:54:55.097+01:00how lovely I'd love to attend this.
